Enrico Natalizio is a full professor at the LORIA lab (Université de Lorraine, France). His research covers the following fields: Robot and UAV networks, mobile networks, and the IoT. As of September 2018, he has joined the Board of our journal, as an Associate Editor of the Area 3 – Communications Networks – handled by André-Luc Beylot (IRIT-ENSEEIHT, France). Find out about his motivations and expectations below.
Annals of Telecommunications: Why did you agree to take part of the Board?
Annals of Telecommunications is a prestigious international journal that, historically, emanates from the French research community on networks and communications. Receiving the invitation to be part of the Board of this journal meant for me to be welcomed into the French community of researchers, who are willing to share their research activities on the International stage.
Were you made aware of the journal during your studies in Italy or when you first arrived in France?
I had discovered the journal during my studies in Italy and in the USA, but only when I came to France, did I understand its importance for the French community.
What do you plan to bring to the Area 3? And what do you expect from this new position?
The journal is undergoing some relevant transformations that will make it a better fit for the new research areas that have been opened in the last years. The Area 3 constitutes, in my opinion, one of the strongest pillars of the journal and I hope that, through my work of advertisement and paper handling, we can raise the number and the quality of submissions even more. The main outcome is to be recognized into the French and International community as a solid support for editorial activities.
