Abstract Power allocation for secondary users (SUs) in cognitive networks is an important issue to ensure the SUs’ quality of service. When the mutual interference between the primary users (PUs) and the SUs is taken into consideration, it is wanted to achieve the conflictfree power allocation while synchronously maximizing the capacity of the secondary network.» Read the summary

How much do we gain by introducing route optimization in Proxy Mobile IPv6 networks?

Jong-Hyouk Lee · Tai-Myoung Chung

Internet Management Technology Laboratory, Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea

Abstract Proxy Mobile IPv6 has been developed from the concept of network-based mobility support protocol in the Internet Engineering Task Force. The recently published specification of Proxy Mobile IPv6 only focuses on the mobility support without a mobile host’s participation in the mobility signaling. Then, route optimization issues are left in the basket for further works. In this paper, we explore the existing route optimization proposals that are analyzed and matched against a list of functional and operational angles.» Read the summary

Application of cost models over traffic dimensioning with QoS restrictions

Alberto E. García & Laura Rodríguez de Lope & Klaus D. Hackbarth

Telematic Engineering Group, University of Cantabria, Santander, Spain

Abstract Network operators and Internet service providers are offering “Triple Play” products integrating services with different quality of service (QoS) requirements. The provision of QoS guarantees implies the revision of current dimensioning methods and consequences for costing and pricing.» Read the summary
